With top placement, your company profile sits at the very top of a directory: above the market leaders table and above the organic provider list. You set a monthly budget for this. The amount comes out of your Feedbax credit and is not billed separately.

You will find the page in the dashboard under Top placement > Directories.

Why it pays off

For searches where decision makers are actively looking for a provider you usually pay 8 € to 30 € per click on Google Ads. Top placement works differently: you pay one fixed monthly amount, no matter how many clicks come out of it. A click flat rate with a budget you can plan.

The click table shows every click of the last 30 days, split into profile and website

The example above shows 142 clicks in 30 days. Through Google Ads that would be several thousand euros, depending on the keyword. How to read this table is explained in Reading your clicks.

What you need

  • An active subscription: Business, Premium or Enterprise. Without one the area stays locked and saving reports a missing subscription.

  • Feedbax credit of at least the budget you want to spend.

As an Enterprise customer you also receive 50 € of credit every month as a gift. That is 600 € per year that can flow into top placement automatically. Up to that amount nothing is deducted from your own credit. Only above it do you pay the difference.

One budget, every directory

This is the point most often underestimated: your monthly budget does not apply per directory. It applies in every directory your profile is listed in.

If you spend 150 € and are listed in eight directories, you compete for a top slot in all eight with those 150 €. You do not pay eight times.

On top of that come the location directories. If you appear at the top of "AI Agencies", you also appear in "AI Agencies Berlin", "... Hamburg" and every other location in that category.

Each directory has a maximum of 10 top slots.

How the order is decided

  1. Budget amount. Whoever spends more stands higher.

  2. Focus directory. With equal budgets, whoever marked this directory as a focus wins. How to do that is explained in Focus directories.

  3. Feedbax score. With equal budget and equal focus, profile quality decides.

Point 3 matters more than it looks. A well kept profile helps you twice: it lifts you in the organic ranking, and it decides the paid slot in a tie.

What top placement does to your Feedbax score

Directly, nothing. It buys visibility, not score points. Your Feedbax score stays as it is.

Indirectly it still helps. More profile views mean more project enquiries and more chances to collect customer reviews. And reviews are the single strongest lever in the Feedbax score. The full list of factors is in How does ranking in the directories work?.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need a subscription for this?

Yes. Top placement is available from the Business plan upwards. Without an active subscription you cannot start a budget. Enterprise customers also receive 50 € of credit per month as a gift.

What does a single click cost?

Nothing extra. You pay your fixed monthly amount, whether it turns into 20 clicks or 300. That is the difference to Google Ads.

How long does a budget run?

Exactly one month from the start. The period is shown above the slider, for example "9/9/2026 to 10/9/2026".

Do I have to pay for each directory separately?

No. Your monthly budget applies in every directory your profile is listed in, and in their location directories.

Am I guaranteed a slot?

No. There are ten slots per directory, and the order follows budget, focus and Feedbax score. The ranking simulation shows you where you would land before you save.

Does top placement improve my Feedbax score?

No, not directly. It brings you visibility. The score rises through reviews, case studies and a complete profile.
