With a review on Feedbax, you help other companies find the right provider. The process takes you through seven steps, from choosing how to write to confirming, and takes about five minutes. This article shows each step with the fields and buttons you see there.

At a glance

  • Where: on the provider's review page. Its address ends in /bewerten/ followed by the provider's profile name. You open it via an invitation from the provider, via the "Review this provider" button on their profile or via "My reviews" in your dashboard.

  • Cost: none. To start, you need neither an account nor a sign-in.

  • Process: seven steps. At the top, the display counts along from "Step 1 of 7" to "Step 7 of 7", together with a progress bar.

  • Two ways to the text: "Tell it in a conversation" with the AI assistant or "Fill it in yourself" in the form. The difference is explained in Tell it in a conversation or fill it in.

  • Saved automatically: You can pause at any time with "Continue later", see Continue a review later.

  • Nothing goes live without you: The review is only published once you have confirmed it by email, approved it in your dashboard and the Feedbax team has checked it.

How it works

You can review any provider whose profile is published and approved on Feedbax. For a hidden profile or one that is not approved yet, the "Review this provider" button is missing, and the review page reports "This page does not exist".

The current step is on the left, the preview "This is how your review looks" on the right. It fills up with every step and shows your review the way readers will see it later. On a smartphone, the preview sits in a bar at the bottom edge: "Preview of your review" with the "Show" button. The provider's logo and name open their profile without you leaving the review page.

On larger screens, you see at the top right whether everything is saved: first "Saving", then "Saved automatically".

Who may write a review is explained in Who may review a provider? In short: you really worked with the provider and received nothing in return for the review. You confirm both explicitly when you approve it.

Starting the review

There are three ways to get to the review page:

  1. Invitation from the provider. If the provider has asked you for a review, you receive an email with the "Write your review" button. The link is valid for 60 days from when it was sent. If the invitation is left unanswered, Feedbax reminds you once after seven days, and not again after that.

  2. The provider's profile. The "Reviews" section of the profile has the "Review this provider" button.

  3. Your dashboard. Under "My reviews" you find open requests with the "Review now" button and drafts you have started with "Continue writing". More in Client dashboard: the overview.

Step 1: Choose how to write

The first page asks "How was your project with …?" and names the provider. Below it, "How would you like to write your review?" offers two cards:

  • "Tell it in a conversation", marked "Recommended". You answer a few questions. The AI arranges your sentences, and you approve everything.

  • "Fill it in yourself", marked "Classic". You write the sections yourself. Each field has hints on what readers want to know.

"Let's go" starts your draft. Feedbax only saves anything from this click on. You can switch the way at any time in step 4.

If you come via an invitation, the top says "… has invited you." with the provider's name. The line "Suggested by the provider:" names the fields the provider has already filled in, for example services or budget.

Step 2: Describe the project

Under "Which project is it about?" you describe the framework. Three fields are required:

  • Services: at least one. Use "Add a service" to search the list. Each service you choose appears below and can be removed again with the cross.

  • Budget: the range of the project. If you prefer not to say, choose "Confidential", see Do I have to disclose the project costs?

  • Project length: from the list.

"Your industry" and "Project start" in the format MM/YYYY, for example 03/2026, are optional.

If the provider has prepared details, these fields carry the label "filled in by the provider". You can change every value. What counts is what you enter.

Step 3: Give stars

Under "How satisfied were you?" you rate five points, each with 1 to 5 stars in half steps:

Point

Question behind it

Overall

How was the project overall?

Quality

Result and way of working

Reliability

Planning and meeting deadlines

Value for money

Was it worth the money?

Recommendation

Would you recommend the provider?

Clicking the left half of a star gives half a star, clicking the right half a whole one. The lowest rating is one whole star. Next to the stars is a word from "poor" to "excellent". With the keyboard, the arrow keys move the rating by half a star, and the digits 1 to 5 set whole stars.

Only you give the stars. The AI never suggests a rating. You can continue once all five points are rated. The button is then called "Continue to the conversation" or "Continue to the form", depending on the way you chose.

Step 4: Tell us about the project

Now the text is created. At the top, under "How you write", you switch between "Conversation" and "Form". Both ways fill the same sections.

Three sections are required: Starting point, Approach and Outcome. Goals, Choosing the provider, Team, Collaboration, Impression and "What could have gone better" are optional.

  • In the conversation, the assistant asks one question after another, and you answer in the chat. The list "Topics of the conversation" shows what has already been covered. "Create draft" becomes active as soon as you have said something about all three required topics.

  • In the form, the required fields are at the top, each with a question and an example text. "Continue to the draft" becomes active as soon as the three required fields are filled in.

All the details about both ways and their limits are in Tell it in a conversation or fill it in.

Step 5: Check the draft

Under "Your draft" you see your review as it is meant to appear. What the AI does here depends on the way you chose:

  • After the conversation, the AI arranges your answers into the sections and adds nothing. This takes about a minute.

  • After the form, your texts stay as you wrote them. The AI only suggests the headline and the summary.

This is what you find in the draft:

  • Headline: Under "Headline, one of your sentences" you pick one of your own sentences as a quote above the review, or "No headline".

  • Summary for readers: a short summary with the label "Written with AI". You can change it freely. Only you see the label. The published review does not carry it.

  • Sections: Each section has "Edit". After the conversation, "Your answer" shows which of your answers the text comes from. Required sections show "Required, done" or "Required, still missing".

  • Rewrite: has the AI write the draft once more. This works at most five times per review, including the first draft. After that, you change the texts directly.

A content check gives hints right at the section concerned. If you name a person, for example, it suggests their role instead, with the "Replace" button. Hints do not hold you up. Only a person's contact details, that is an email address, phone number or postal address, later prevent the confirmation link from being sent. "Use this text" takes you on.

If you add something in the conversation after the first draft, the draft asks whether it should include it. "Rewrite" rewrites it from the whole conversation and replaces your manual changes. "No, keep it" keeps it as it is.

Step 6: Details about you

Under "About you" you enter who is writing. First name, last name, company and employees, meaning the size of your company, are required. Position and location are optional. If you come via an invitation, your first and last names are usually already filled in.

Under "How you appear" you decide what readers see:

  • "With name and company": the default setting.

  • "Without name": your company appears, and "Name hidden" is shown instead of your name.

  • "Without company": your name appears, your company does not.

Feedbax always knows who you are. We only share it with your consent. How Feedbax handles your data is explained in Confidentiality: who sees your data

Step 7: Confirm and request the link

Under "Confirm your review", enter your address in the "Business email" field and click "Send link". Feedbax does not accept private inboxes such as Gmail or GMX or disposable addresses. If anything is still missing, it is listed under "Something is still missing". "Add" takes you straight to the matching step.

You then receive an email with the "View and release review" button. It opens your review in your Feedbax dashboard, where you approve it. If you do not have an account yet, this click creates one, free of charge. The whole process is described in Confirm and approve your review.

Frequently asked questions

Do I need an account to write a review?

Not for writing. The account is only created when you click the link in the confirmation email, free of charge. There you approve the review and later see its status. If you already have a Feedbax account with this address, the link simply signs you in.

Does the AI write my review?

No. Only you give the stars. In the conversation, the AI arranges your own sentences, and in the form your texts stay unchanged. You can change any text in the draft, and nothing is published without your approval.

Can I review a project that is still running?

Yes, on one condition. It is explained in Can I review a project that is still running?

Can I review several providers?

Yes. Each provider gets its own draft. If you start a second review, the first one is kept.

What happens if I close the browser in the middle of writing?

Your entries are saved. How to come back is explained in Continue a review later.

Does writing a review cost anything?

No. Writing a review is free for you, and so is the account. More in Is Feedbax free for clients?
